Expansive knowledge and skills include building underwriting teams, developing comprehensive underwriting guidelines, creating new product ideas, guiding ceding companies in their purchase of reinsurance and managing large reinsurance portfolios. Mr. Carney is an ARIAS-US certified arbitrator and has served as an arbitrator, umpire, expert witness or reinsurance underwriting consultant in over fifteen disputes. He has been a three time panelist at the Reinsurance and Advanced Reinsurance Reasoning Seminars held at the Graduate School of Management of the University of Dallas and is a former member of PLUS & IRU. Mr. Carney has also been a faculty member of the Robert Strain Reinsurance and Contract Workshop, as well as publishing his work on "Transactional Audits" for the CPCU Reinsurance Section Encounter (Volume 23 - #2 - May 2005). Mr Carney's consulting efforts include underwriting consultation to a Cayman Captive writing reinsurance program business in the U.S. |
