The ARIAS•U.S. online webinar program offers arbitrators, attorneys, and other experts within the reinsurance field, an opportunity to sharpen their knowledge and skills. These online educational opportunities are offered live and On-Demand, and a great option to conveniently access a wealth of information in a short amount of time. Online webinars also provide an option for ARIAS•U.S. Certified Arbitrators to meet requirements towards recertification or prospective arbitrators to earn towards certification.

December 6, 2023 AI – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The ARIAS-US Education Committee will host a webinar focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and explore its impact on the Insurance and Reinsurance industries.  AI offers vast opportunities for insurers and reinsurers in how they run their business and deal with their clients.  But, the AI technology also presents enormous challenges for its use from a legal, regulatory and best practices perspective.  Our panel will help you understand the types of AI in use, the applications of AI in the industry, and the ever-evolving technical problems and its impact on the Insurance and Reinsurance industries.  From that the panel will explore the legal and regulatory issues that confront the use of the technology.  Finally, a diverse panel of professionals will discuss how AI presents thought-provoking issues such as privilege and privacy issues, new areas of potential liability, potential coverage issues and policy considerations, and best practices concerning the use of AI.

This webinar provides opportunities for company representatives, arbitrators, and outside counsel:

  • To better understand AI and what it is all about.
  • To learn how AI is being used by insurers and reinsurers.
  • To be aware of the benefits and pitfalls of using AI.
  • To highlight the risks associated with using AI.
  • To explore best practices for implementing AI.

The Education Committee has approved OnDemand webinars held within the same year of recertification to count towards renewal.  All 2021 and prior OnDemand webinars are available to view for free. Click on the links below to register and view!

2023 Webinars

July 11, 2023What’s Going on With Bad Faith?

This link will take to you a registration page where you will pay the $180 fee to view the recording. There is no CLE credit for this, only arbitrator certification credit. Credit is only good for webinars held within the same year of your recertification so if you need to be recertified by December 31, 2023, this will count toward one of your three webinars.

Continuing Education

ARIAS•U.S. Certification

Each of the webinars will award 1/3 of a credit toward initial certification or renewal. Therefore, attendees must take three webinars within the two years of their renewal deadline to receive the equivalent of one seminar’s credit. For certification candidates, attendance at three live webinars within two years of the application date will provide one credit towards.  The Education Committee has approved OnDemand webinars held within the same year of recertification to count towards renewal.

Continuing Legal Education

ARIAS•U.S. awards CLE credits on a case by case basis. Information about CLE credits can be found in the description section upon registering for a webinar. For approved webinars, participants will receive a certificate documenting 1.5 contact hours for NY CLE credits within three weeks of the webinar. OnDemand webinars are not eligible for CLE credit.

Participating in a Webinar

To participate in a webinar, you need a computer with internet connection to view the screen and computer speakers to listen to the audio portion of the program. You also have the option to listen to the audio by calling the number provided in the webinar link provided upon registering.

Group Viewing and Continuing Education Credits

If you have a group of individuals viewing the webinar from one site and want to earn continuing legal education credits, please contact info@arias-us.org at least 48 hours in advance of the webinar to obtain a sign-in sheet for all participants viewing the webinar. In order to receive credit, completed sign-in sheets must be returned to ARIAS•U.S. within one week of viewing the live webinar. Please note that all attendees must be registered to receive credit.
