Biography

Mr. McLauchlan has been practicing law for over 30 years and concentrates his practice in arbitration and mediation, complex business litigation, insurance coverage, professional liability and reinsurance law. He has been certified as an Arbitrator and Mediator by ARIAS-US for over ten years; He received training as a mediator from Northwestern University and advanced training from CPR International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. He has also received training in International Arbitration from The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, North American Branch and is certified by CIArb as an arbitrator. He is Court certified mediator and arbitrator.

David has successfully handled numerous major cases around the US including matters involving business, insurance, reinsurance, construction law, professional liability, intellectual property, aviation law and asbestos claims and environmental coverage issues. He has tried cases in State and Federal Court and handled arbitration and mediation proceedings all over the United States and in the United Kingdom. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers, the Leading Lawyers Network, Best Lawyers in America, America's Top 100 Attorneys-for his Lifetime Achievements and is AV peer rated as published by Martindale Hubbell.

After a successful career as a partner with the law firm of Lord Bissell and Brook, which became Locke Lord LLP, David retired from that firm and founded his own firm. He now concentrates his practice in Arbitration, Mediation and Business Litigation. In addition to practicing law David is involved in numerous charitable organizations including past service as a member of the Foundation Board of Illinois Special Olympics and as a member of the Misericordia Homes Family Association. David is an avid golfer, motorcyclist and aviation enthusiast. He has been a licensed instrument rated pilot for over 15 years.
