Biography

James (Jim) F. Hughes III is a practicing arbitrator and mediator as well as an expert witness and risk management and insurance consultant. In addition, he is an Executive Professor at the University of Houston's Bauer School of Business teaching risk management and insurance. Jim spent most of his career on the risk management side of the business, culminating in becoming the Risk Manager/Corporate Insurance manager for a major (Fortune 5) global energy company. Jim has also worked for insurers and retail and wholesale insurance brokers in executive capacities, and served on four insurance company boards several Bermuda entities. He earned the CPCU and RPLU designations and has been involved with many insurance industry groups.
