Biography

I am an actuary by training with 40+ years experience in the life, accident and health field. My experience includes managing all aspects of individual and group insurance; direct, ceded, and assumed.

I have extensive operational experience having directed the marketing, underwriting, actuarial, administration, claim, contract, and compliance functions for large insurers. Over the years I have been engaged in over 80 expert witness assignments representing insurers, reinsurers, managing general underwriters, policyholders, self-insured employers, TPAs, brokers, reinsurance intermediaries, consultants, HMOs, and PPOs and have testified at trial and arbitration hearings.

In addition to being a party appointed arbitrator or umpire in several insurance/reinsurance disputes I have also served as an NASD arbitrator in securities arbitrations. I am currently ARIAS certified, umpire listed, and on the NASD, now FINRA, Board of Arbitrators.
